Ms. Abeer Helmy Saleh

Abeer Saleh is an Insurance and Banking professional having 28 years of professional experience with reputable financial institutions in Egypt with a diversified career. She started her career joining the Commercial International Life Insurance Company CIL in 1998 JV between Legal & General UK Based insurer and Commercial International Bank – the biggest private sector bank in Egypt.

In 2005, Abeer joined the banking sector as the Head of Liabilities & Bancassurance in Arab Banking Corporation ABC Bank in Egypt. In 2007, Abeer joined the founding team of Bank Audi in Egypt as a Senior Manager for Bancassurance with responsibility of establishing the bank’s Bancassurance in Egypt.

Between 2008 and 2013, Abeer joined Metlife Alico Egypt. In her capacity as Director of Bancassurance & Alternative Distribution, also she was a member of the executive team in Egypt with dual reporting lines locally and regionally.

In 2013 and till 2018, Abeer held multiple positions at Commercial International Bank-CIB Egypt, the latest being Head of Liabilities, Investments & Insurance Business – Consumer Banking Group. In addition to her title, she was also assigned to represent CIB on the Board of Directors of Commercial International Life Insurance Company. From January 2018 till June 2019, Abeer joined Bupa Egypt Insurance in the capacity of Managing Director, overseeing operations in Egypt.

in December 2020, due to her remarkable experience in the insurance field, Abeer was selected as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority.

In 2021, the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) approved the appointment of Abeer Saleh as Managing Director of Al-Wafaa Life Insurance in Egypt, thus taking on a new challenge in establishing and launching the company in Egypt.

She was also elected to the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Insurance Federation, making her the first woman to hold this position.

In 2022, Abeer Helmy Saleh started a new challenge by establishing a large insurance entity in Egypt, where she moved to Misr Holding Group, the largest non-banking financial group in Egypt, as a managing director to establish Misr life Insurance – Takaful In partnership with the National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr.

Abeer holds a BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo, as well as a Diploma in Integrated Marketing and Communications from the American University in Cairo.
