Mr. Bassel Rahmy

Current Position and Responsibilities
Bassel Rahmy is the CEO of MSMEDA, the national entity mandated to support the micro, small and medium enterprise sector in Egypt, under the umbrella of the Egyptian Cabinet .

A results-driven veteran with 25 years of experience in the banking and financial sector, Bassel held key positions with several prominent multinational and regional banking entities in which he had a proven track record of achieving accelerated portfolio growth while boosting revenue and profit margins.
Previous Position and Responsibilities

During his successful career, Bassel accumulated a wealth of experience in the retail and SME banking sectors focusing on acquiring and nurturing the best talents to build efficient and proactive teams in the different key positions he held as:
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Shari for MSMEs. Shari operates as a private company for Microfinance.
CEO & MD of Sandah Group, one of the Arab African International Bank subsidiaries. Sandah is a private sector company for MSMEs with a paid in capital of EGP 200 MM (70% AAIB & 30% Sanad fund).
Chief of Retail and MSMEs, Executive Board Member and acting CEO at ALEXBANK, a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group. ALEXBANK is one of the largest private-sector retail banks in the Egyptian market with a branch network that consists of over 180 branches and more than 5,200 dedicated staff. As Chief of Retail and SMEs at ALEXBANK, Bassel oversaw the functions of MSMEs, Branch Network Management, Branch Business Development, Product Development, Marketing and Communication, Small Businesses, Alternative Delivery Channels, Micro Finance and Contact Center.
Prior to Alex Bank Bassel held key positions with several prominent multinational and regional banking entities including CITIBANK N.A and Barclays Bank Egypt as Head of Distribution & Premier Banking for three year
